A few days ago, I was listening to the evening news in one of the major TV stations here in Nigeria and deep into the news, the reporter who visited an egg production poultry farm was advising listeners, particularly men to eat eggs for better s£x performance among other nutritional benefits.

Shortly after I heard this, I wondered if this was just another myth or a fact? Could there be a scientific connection between the eggs you consume and how well you perform in bed? In this write up, foodsng.com shall establish or debunk the claim.

I have always jokingly communicated to some of my female friends who are married, that men love good foods and s£x. One of the effective way to improve the s£x performance of their husband, if they must, is to change the constituent of his diet. That is quite an unusual advice but you never can tell. Putting that in mind, is egg one of such food items that could unleash a better s£x? Maybe, maybe not.

Argument on this topic by Farm Owners
One factor that has caused many men to perform poorly during s£x is stress which is usually from the mind. Having said that, marketers of vitamin supplementation have claimed that vitamin B is a major micro nutrient that will help reduce mind stress.

The argument that many farm owners have also put to the table is that egg is rich in B vitamins and as such can help reduce stress which sometimes causes poor s£x performance. In fact, the proponents of this claim say, with a plateful of eggs whether scramble or boiled eggs on the morning of your deal date, the available B vitamins will keep you calm and  prevent premature £jacuIation due to anxiety. Can this be true?

Eggs Helping Men Perform Better In S£x? Myth or Truth?
Truly, Egg is a wonder food which everyone should include into their diets at recommended intake levels regardless of their age provided it does not trigger any reaction in their body. I have also argued that in as much as the B vitamins are key to ensure a healthy heart, blood production, improved energy to mention a few, it could be a fallacy to categorically claim that consumption of eggs due to the richness in B vitamins will lead to better s£x performance.

In my days of digging the web to find research work (relating to egg and s£x performance) done by any credible institution, I could not find an established fact on it. However, certainly, a healthy nutrition which is usually based on a combination of many food items from different food groups including egg protein will definitely aid or improve your chances of performing better in bed provided all other external factors which could inhibit a man’s performance during s£x is not in play.

If you have heard such information that eggs could help you perform better in bed, it is not necessarily true and based on the information you should not unnecessarily indulge in egg consumption before s£x as this could make you become prone to disease conditions that are associated with excessive egg consumption. A combination of a healthy diet can help, however, speaking to a general practitioner on your peculiar poor performance during s£x might also be helpful.

Last weekend I was in Asaba for my bestfriend's elder sister's traditional wedding and I tasted Nsala soup for the first time. I was fascinated by the soup and I kept eating it over and over again. When I got back home, I decided to Google the recipe and discovered it was quite easy. So I thought it'd be wonderful to share it with you.

Nsala Soup is for a cold rainy day due to its spicy taste. Because it is so easy to prepare, you can count on it to save the day when you run out on soup a few days before the big soup day.

Ingredients

  • Cat Fish: 4 one-inch thick pieces
  • Fresh or dry Utazi Leaves (Gongronema latifolium)
  • Thickener: Raw White Yam / Yam Powder / Potato Puree
  • Habanero peppers : to taste
  • Salt (to taste)
  • 1 handful crayfish
  • 1 stock cube (Maggi / Knorr)
  • 1 Ogiri Okpei (Nigerian traditional seasoning)

Alternative Ingredients for Nsala Soup
  • You can use Conger Eel (Congrio in Spanish) instead of Cat fish. Buy the part towards the tail because the pieces you'll get from there are smaller and do not have large holes in them.
  • When using yam powder as thickener, mix the powder with hot water first to make a thick smooth paste (as if you are making pounded yam) before adding it to the soup. Adding the powder directly into the soup will make the soup mushy and you may end up with lumps. Visit
  • In the absence of habanero pepper, you can use dry chilli pepper.
  • Utazi leaves do not have any good alternative. If you don't have it, no worries because it only adds a slightly bitter flavour to the soup.

Before you cook Nsala Soup

  1. Cut the catfish into 1 inch thick cylindrical discs and remove the intestines. Place in bowl and pour very hot water on the fish. This process of pouring hot water on the fish toughens the skin of the fish so that the pieces do not disintegrate while cooking the soup. Leave for about 2 minutes and wash the fish with cold water. You should also wash off any slimy substance on the outer skin of the fish at this time.
  2. Boil a few cubes of raw white yam. When soft, pound with a mortar and pestle till a smooth paste is formed, then set aside. You can substitute white yam with yam powder or potato puree for the thickening.
  3. Wash and pound/blend the utazi leaves, the chilli pepper and the crayfish and set aside. it is bitter in taste and only used for flavouring so one or two leaves should be enough especially when using the fresh leaves.

Cooking Directions

  1. Place the catfish in a pot and pour enough water to cover the fish. Add the seasoning and cook till done. Feel free to add beef and dry fish to this soup recipe.
  2. When the catfish is almost done, add the crayfish, pepper and utazi leaves blend. Also add the yam paste in small lumps and salt to taste. Note: Catfish is what makes Nsala soup what it is, giving it the unique taste that it has so it is essential to this recipe. The only other fish that I have found to be close to Cat fish as regards to this recipe is Conger Eel.
  3. Cover the pot and allow the contents to cook at high heat till all the yam paste have dissolved. While cooking, if you think that the yam paste will make the soup too thick, you can remove some that are yet to dissolve.

The Nigerian Nsala Soup is ready to be served with Eba (Garri) , Semolina , Amala, Pounded Yam etc.

Carrot oil has numerous benefits such as building soft supple skin, protection of the skin from the effect of chemicals, sunlight and the weather. Carrot oil also aids in hair growth, prevents hair breakage and softens hair texture. It also has anti-aging effects, help to maintain blood circulation and naturally aids skin lightening. • Place the grated carrot in a glass jar and pour in the oil of your choice to cover the carrot entirely.
  • Place the jar in a place when it can be generously heated by the Sun or on the back of your refrigerator for 2 weeks (I know right....it's quite long)-This is called masceration.
  • Ensure you shake the bottle every day for the beta-carotene and fat soluble to dissolve in the oil
  • Afterwards, when the oil has completely turned orange (That's after the two weeks) filter the now carrot oil into another bottle and store in a cool dry place.

For many years I have pondered and wondered what the English name of this fruit could be. My discoveries led me to know that the Yorubas call it "Awin", the Igbos call it "Icheku", the hausas call it "Tsamiyar kurim". Still i wasnt able to find its english name.

Thank God for the plant biologist that visited my family today. As we were all enjoying our afternoon with this fruit, without me asking he said "Do you know that the English name of this fruit is Black Velvet Tamarind? Also its botanical name is Dialium guineense

As soon as he said it, I quickly googled the name for confirmation and of course he was correct!

That's how your questions will be answered without you asking this month😇

What is this fruit called in your language?

Instagram user @officialch took to instagram his shock as a piece was fish was tagged 42000 Naira in Grand Square Supermarket, Victoria Island, Lagos.

He captioned the picture thus: 'So earlier today, I was at the Grand Square Supermarket in Victoria Island to get some snacks to quench my cravings. Guess what I saw? Can you imagine this piece of fish is sold for 42000 Naira? Shouldn't this be a wake up call for all Nigerians to go into fishing? Water done pass garri o.'

However, I have the following heartfelt questions concerning this fish price. (Yes, it's that personal to me)

  1. Was the fish fried with crude oil?
  2. Will it grow back once eaten?
  3. Are the bones made of Gold?
  4. Was it the same fish that was used to feed the five thousand men in the bible? If yes I'll borrow 1million Naira to buy it. If No.....who e epp??
  5. Will it give me eternal life?
  6. Will the fish cure cancer?
  7. Did they mean N420.00 (still too expensive)
  8. Will someone actually buy this fish for 42k??

Biko, help me forward my questions to the supermarket's manager. I need answers!

The first glimpse I had of this picture gave me no idea it was garri till I saw the caption on Naija Single girl's instagram handle that said "This garri graduated with a CGPA of 5.0"

Some past few weeks, I was having a terrible eating disorder. I barely thought about food, I barely ate and I began to lose all the weight I had been acquiring since birth. When I don't eat for like a day and half, I would slump anywhere possible; on the street, in my house, and once while attempting to cross the road.

My weight was terribly low, my body mass index was unbelievable (shame will not let me to say exact figures), everyone kept asking what was wrong with me but I couldn't even fathom that for myself. My parents were getting scared and I swear, I was ten times more terrified.

Throughout the time of my struggle, food was a turnoff to me...no matter how beautiful it looked I just wasn't interested. However, staring at this sexy garri up above, I know that deep down if I had seen it, I would have received automatic healing cause it is way different from the usual garri, sugar and tiny balls of groundnut I'm used to.....it completely would have won in seducing my heart away from anorexia.

Anyways, my mum got me a handful of drugs that has been helping me eat but I plan on stopping them once I reach a particular weight on the scale and this garri by chef_six with ice "blocks", groundnut, coconut, fish, meat, milk and the other thing I can't recongize has inspired me.

So if you are in a place like I was, then please go see a doctor on time, see a psychologist, balance your diet, pray, be ready for healing and above all get inspired by this garri's picture up above.
