Can a Born Again Christian Become a Male Gynecologist?

This question has been trending on Nairaland and I must say at a point I even got confused as to what my views were.

Now, a gynecologist is a doctor who treats medical conditions and diseases that affect women and female reproductive organs. Will it not have an impairing effect on a man's holiness to observe a woman's private region all in the name of profession? (Last last, body nor be fire wood o.) Can the flesh and its [sexual] urge be fully tamed in such cases?

Well, my view on this issue is that, doctors (whether male or female) are trained to see a patient's "body" as what is subjected to treatment and nothing more. After a number of years of studies and practice in the field of medicine, they learn to understand their profession from that angle.

Even if not so, it will be unwise to have male doctors perform surgical operations on the female folks (and vice versa) because in most surgeries, patients are usually unclad.

Come to think of it, it is actually better to have a male believer (gynecologist) who has learned to walk by the spirit and not by the flesh than an unbeliever who can easily be swept away by lust.

Whether a believer is a gynecologist or not, he/she can still possess lustful desires if the heart is not properly guided. So it's about the heart and not the profession.

Then again, what would one say about Lesbian gynaecologists,  Female Urologist who deals with male genitals, Surgeons, and many other such professionals?

What's your opinion about this??

  1. Uhm, personally, I think professions Such as those cannot be gender restricted.. I mean they are professionals.. That do their job, and wouldn't care about your body (literally). of course, other than as it concerns their job.

  3. Opposite sex intimate medical care is against God's word. This is a huge cultural blind spot. The truth is God has the same moral standards for doctors as everyone else. You should read the article, Are Male Gynecologists Biblical?
