It came a time when we carefully observed the church and activities therein, we saw a church that patronized all other forms of art in worship and left the aspect of RAP for unbelievers. We saw a church that preached against RAP music and condemned RAP and RAP ARTISTES, where RAP LOVERS and RAPPERS were seen as canal.
As at June last year GOD started to speak to us specifically about this neglected aspect of human art that has been tagged unholy, and GOD made us to understand that He is hungry for the praises of his people in whatever way it comes, and from the emergence of successful GOSPLE rap artiste like LACRAE and others that has proven that GOD is a lover of RHYTMS AND POETRY (RAP). He gave us a mandate to PROJECT GOSPLE RAPPERS AND UNITE GOSPLE RAP LOVERS.
On June 23rd 2016 we decided to start from home (UNIBEN) by organizing THE FIRST EVER GOSSPLE RAP CONTEST in the University of Benin. The event was the first of its kind in UNIBEN and across other institution in Nigeria called DOXA GOSPLE RAP CONTEST (DOXA GORAC).DOXA means GLORY in Greek. DOXA GORAC Is a non-fellowship event but entirely Gospel. The last year’s edition of DOXA GORAC was organized in conjunction with the office of the UNIBEN SUG president, Comrade OBAKPOLOR LAURETTA O. And SUPPORTED BY MANY WELL MEANING FIRMS.
GOD helping us we were able to organize a successful contest, marveled by how much talent the gospel rap ministry is blessed with. We were able to produce 3 winners. SUPPERBOI, MIKELDOXA, ERONS
All of which won themselves 100% free record deals and other prizes.
HOW FAR WE HAVE GONE
Doxagorac maiden edition was organized June last year with an estimated 1200 attendants at hall 2 car park. The event was so lively that busy students preparing for exams left their hostels to join the event. SUPERBOI emerged winner, ERONS emerged first runner up while MIIKELDOXA emerged second runner up. The winners were given 100% FREE record deal of 3 tracks (winner), 2 tracks (1st runner up), 2 tracks (2nd runner up) and 1 combined audio record for all of them. The songs were recorded at the studios of two of our sponsors (EROSKELLY STUDIO AND STUDIO V). MIKELDOXA recorded “REPPING FOR CHRIST” & “SWAG-SAVED WITH AMAZING GRACE”, ERONS recorded “MIRACLE” & “YOUR LOVE”, both of them also did a combined song “GOD ON TOP”. SUPERBOI was unable to record due to some unforeseen circumstances. So far so good, we have done our best in projecting our artistes by uploading their songs online (gospelcentric),scouting for lucrative performance opportunities for them within and outside campus, playing the songs on rhythm 93.7 FM and also goinsg on air for an interview.
The mandate is heavy in our heart that we can’t ignore.
GOD helping us this year we the DOXA GORAC TEAM proudly announces the second edition of DOXA GORAC 2017.

Whatever
your reaction is now, was my first reaction when I realized that eggs had other
uses aside eating… I mean, that’s the only thing I’ve used egg for all my life.
However, here are seven interesting things you can use egg for aside placing
them in your stomach.
Also see:
interesting things you can use coke for aside drinking.
Use egg
as Glue
Raw eggs whites are actually powerful bonding agents that can be used on paper
as a substitute for glue when glue isn’t available.
The proteins in egg white tend to set quite firmly when dry because of their
strong bonding properties. I actually tried out this one and it worked out.
Treat a
Cut
The thin membrane from a hard-boiled egg can be applied on cuts to promote
healing. The membrane has wound-healing nutrients and can be used as a bandage
for cuts. You have to be gentle when applying the membrane on the wound though,
so it doesn’t cut from over stretching.
To Deter Pests
You can use eggs as some form of pesticide to deter pests. Simply scatter
crushed eggshells on top of flowerbeds to discourage and deter snails, slugs
and cutworms from coming to the area.
To Help Seeds Germinate
This is mainly done with flower seeds. Eggshells can be used at the initial
stage of seed germination. They can be used to start your seeds for the season.
Use a needle to poke a small drainage hole in the bottom half of an empty egg
shell, fill in the shell with soil and press in the seeds. Take care of the
seeds appropriately and watch them grow.
To Fertilize Plants
Eggs shells contain a high amount of calcium which is a beneficial mineral for
cherry tomatoes, garden eggs and other plants in the nightshade family. For
this reason, they are great for use in helping to fertilize these plants to
promote growth and germination.
To Boost Calcium Intake
Like was stated above, eggshells have a high amount of calcium, and aside from
using them to fertilize plants, they can also be used to help boost calcium
intake in humans. Simply bake an empty egg shell at 350 degree Fahrenheit for
eight minutes, let cool, then grind to fine powder and add a teaspoon of it to
your juice.
To Scour Metal
Ground eggshells are powerful abrasives that can be used to clean dirty pots,
pans and even pipes to make them shine and look new again. You can add some
soapy water to dampen the ground eggshells a bit before using them to scour the
metal.
I was in my hostel
with some friends few weeks back when a girl walked in and said “paper for sale”.
I was astonished and I asked her what kind of paper was for sale…. She dipped
her hand in a polythene bag and brought out a sheet of A4 paper with prints on
it. I took it from her and the title of the comprehension was “how to find
yourself”. This comprehension was just a one sheet of paper (I’ll like to emphasize).
I asked her
for the price and she said it was N50. We were all very surprised but we told
her we were not interested and she left. When she walked out of my room, my
friend said we should just buy her “papers” to help her business (That maybe it
was corporate begging). So we called her back and bought four copies….that was
N200 with a profit of N160 because printing or photocopying would cost her 10
naira per page. (That might just be more than what I’ve made from this blog in
eleven months. lol)
So I read
the comprehension “paper” passage and it was the shallowest thing I have ever read
with my eyes…one point I can remember was “in
finding yourself you have to always be alone” and that point was even one
of the points that was close to reasonable. We laughed at the idea and some of
us even said it was a disguise for begging but our opinions didn’t stop the fact
that she has made N200 from us, it didn’t change the fact that she might just
sell all her “papers” and it didn’t reduce the fact that she was on her own journey
of finding herself…. Whether the journey made sense to us or not.
I actually
took her number and maybe one day I’d call her to come guest write on this blog
and maybe by then, she’d be a better writer.
At first I argued that both photos were pictures of different people...(maybe a husband and a wife...no offence) till I saw that the nose was the same. Makeup has evolved from beautifying a woman's face to concealing her identity.
honestly....what do you think about this transformation.
There is this really talented and 'awesome' rapper that's trending right now. He's young, talented and has a great personality. His name is Joel Osaro Peter but he goes by "Treyboi"..... (I'm yet to ask him the reason for the name choice)
Treyboi is a twin from a family of six who were formally Muslims but are now Christians. He studies at the University of Benin and is currently in his finals. He became a full rap artiste after he discovered that he was no longer afraid of the crowd and he also realised that he never needed to write lyrics and spit them in the toilet..... (That part got me rolling on the floor)
According to him, he gets inspiration from his environment, his everyday life and the people around him. His plan towards rap music is to bring it into a whole new level in Nigeria. I truly am expecting great things from him because he is bursting with potentials..... You can click here to download his new single 'Baby Yo'
You can contact him via any of the following medium
This lady tried to convince her crush to date her by sending him a powerpoint presentation giving him "solid" reasons. Its really so creative and hilarious.
Point 1 and 2
Point 3 and 4
Finally.....
Just before I started feeling good for her, I heard that the guy told her never to contact him again. Quite Savage.
That airless moment when life is moving faster than you.
You just sit down and realise you are old.
You no longer care about the things that used to drive you crazy.
You can't wear that crazy jean anymore because your 16 years old sister wears it.
You see yourself attending weddings...Either you are the chief bride's maid, a bride's maid, an usher or just a random observer.
Then it hits you hard like rock! Most of your friends are married and have left you in the world of "singlehood and unmarried"
You try to calm down and think about ways to make your life work out.
Maybe you should go out more often...smile often...dress single....look searching but not desperate....go to relationship seminars and probably go for deliverance (as some of your relatives have advised)
Finally, in the midst of all this heat; you meet someone... He's cool, fun, good looking and well to-do.
You both get along really well and your heart starts leaping for joy.
Maybe this is it....This might be the end of the road for you....Maybe you found him.
He asks you out and after playing hard to get... You finally find yourself drooling in the warmth of his affection and spinning in the web of love.....You start imagining yourself as a married woman and this guy as your husband.
Unfortunately, you find out you are few years older than him.
You try to still give it a chance but reality shoots in like AK-47.
You are a Nigerian girl and people would talk. Mama wouldn't agree.... Papa would forbid....and his family members....Well, they'd disagree too.
Wicked coldstoned Nigerian mentality swept your feet away and pushed you into the ocean of life, leaving you to sink like titanic.
Maybe relationship wasn't meant for you afterall....
Maybe you were meant to be like your secondary school literature teacher who wasn't married at 50.
Maybe you'd never find happiness.
Maybe you are asking for too much.
And maybe you should "pause".....stop trying....focus on yourself...eat....grow younger....wear what you like......dance....and accept yourself for who you are.....fall in love with yourself and the things you like......then let the wind of life blow you into the positive direction of your mind.
I realized that being worried about things make little or no difference compared to being happy about them. It's always about travelling in the process of finding yourself....the moment you stop living out your happiness, you stop existing within your own self.
You might get too worried and then miss it. Trust me when I say that if you relax, and emit positive vibes.....You would be surprised to see yourself on the alter saying "I do" with your "Mr Right". Then, It'll be bye-bye to your old and unmarried self.
So this Lord Chosen member has been trending online with her "alarming" wedding dress. She has received comments of different shapes and sizes but who cares....she's married and she sure looks happy.
Who am I to say the dress is not beautiful and stylish ni.....I am unmarried and she is. Besides, according to her, the wedding was wonderful and I hope the marriage is too.
Last weekend I was in Asaba for my bestfriend's elder sister's traditional wedding and I tasted Nsala soup for the first time. I was fascinated by the soup and I kept eating it over and over again. When I got back home, I decided to Google the recipe and discovered it was quite easy. So I thought it'd be wonderful to share it with you.
Nsala Soup is for a cold rainy day due to its spicy taste. Because it is so easy to prepare, you can count on it to save the day when you run out on soup a few days before the big soup day.
Ingredients
Cat Fish: 4 one-inch thick pieces
Fresh or dry Utazi Leaves (Gongronema latifolium)
Thickener: Raw White Yam / Yam Powder / Potato Puree
Habanero peppers : to taste
Salt (to taste)
1 handful crayfish
1 stock cube (Maggi / Knorr)
1 Ogiri Okpei (Nigerian traditional seasoning)
Alternative Ingredients for Nsala Soup
You can use Conger Eel (Congrio in Spanish) instead of Cat fish. Buy the part towards the tail because the pieces you'll get from there are smaller and do not have large holes in them.
When using yam powder as thickener, mix the powder with hot water first to make a thick smooth paste (as if you are making pounded yam) before adding it to the soup. Adding the powder directly into the soup will make the soup mushy and you may end up with lumps. Visit
In the absence of habanero pepper, you can use dry chilli pepper.
Utazi leaves do not have any good alternative. If you don't have it, no worries because it only adds a slightly bitter flavour to the soup.
Before you cook Nsala Soup
Cut the catfish into 1 inch thick cylindrical discs and remove the intestines. Place in bowl and pour very hot water on the fish. This process of pouring hot water on the fish toughens the skin of the fish so that the pieces do not disintegrate while cooking the soup. Leave for about 2 minutes and wash the fish with cold water. You should also wash off any slimy substance on the outer skin of the fish at this time.
Boil a few cubes of raw white yam. When soft, pound with a mortar and pestle till a smooth paste is formed, then set aside. You can substitute white yam with yam powder or potato puree for the thickening.
Wash and pound/blend the utazi leaves, the chilli pepper and the crayfish and set aside. it is bitter in taste and only used for flavouring so one or two leaves should be enough especially when using the fresh leaves.
Cooking Directions
Place the catfish in a pot and pour enough water to cover the fish. Add the seasoning and cook till done. Feel free to add beef and dry fish to this soup recipe.
When the catfish is almost done, add the crayfish, pepper and utazi leaves blend. Also add the yam paste in small lumps and salt to taste. Note: Catfish is what makes Nsala soup what it is, giving it the unique taste that it has so it is essential to this recipe. The only other fish that I have found to be close to Cat fish as regards to this recipe is Conger Eel.
Cover the pot and allow the contents to cook at high heat till all the yam paste have dissolved. While cooking, if you think that the yam paste will make the soup too thick, you can remove some that are yet to dissolve.
The Nigerian Nsala Soup is ready to be served with Eba (Garri) , Semolina , Amala, Pounded Yam etc.
